The new Chevrolet Colorado gets various updates and changes and the 2019 model year represents the fifth year of the 2nd generation Colorado in the U.S. market. What is the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado All About?

This rugged mid-size pick up is offered with rear or four-wheel drive and seats up to five. It has two cab and cargo-bed styles that pair with several powertrain options. The extended-cab form comes with a 6-foot-2-inch bed and the crew cab comes with a 5-foot-2-inch or 6-foot-2-inch bed. Total three engines are offered on the 2019 Colorado: standard equipment on base trim levels includes a 200-hp, gas 2.5-liter four-cylinder; a 308-hp, gas 3.6-liter V6 is the quickest of the bunch, and a 181-hp, turbo-diesel 2.8-liter four-cylinder. The base gas four-cylinder has a standard 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, the turbo-diesel works with the 6-speed automatic and the gas V6 teams with an eight-speed automatic transmission. With a hefty class-leading towing capacity of 7700 lbs, the new Colorado is surely a multipurpose pick truck that is both clever and capable.

 

Off-road admirers should take notice of the ZR2 and special ZR2 Bison models with their innovative, front and rear locking differentials, lifted heavy-duty suspension, wider track widths, and handsome exterior styling.

What's New for 2019?

Chevrolet has restricted the updates for 2019 to few minor trims and tech items. The available 7 and 8-inch touchscreen multimedia systems have been updated. Most trim levels get an HD backup camera while a regular definition camera is standard. Rear parking cameras are now included in the available Safety Package. For off-road enthusiasts, Chevy has teamed with American Expedition Vehicles to provide a new, rugged ZR2 Bison version. Based on the ZR2 model, it brings five skid plates to guard the truck's underside, adventure-ready tweaks to the exterior, and polished 17-inch aluminum wheels. There is an addition of new premium exterior colors-Crush, Pacific Blue Metallic, and Shadow Gray Metallic.

Bask in the Colorado's connectivity options and striking graphics of its infotainment system. It features a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, two new-for-2019 intuitive touchscreens, and the new Chevrolet Infotainment System 3. The base Colorado doesn't come with a touchscreen, but a new 7.0-inch MyLink system is optional on the WT trim. All other models have an 8.0-inch infotainment system that features eye-catching menus and responsive touch functions. 

 

The turbo-diesel engine includes an exhaust brake system that helps reduce brake pad wear on steep grades. A few active safety and driver-assistance features include:
